Welcome

We are a retired American couple living in France, enjoying the good life with our cats. Our house is in a small hamlet among the Ste. Foy vines. We also have a sailboat that the male half of the spousal unit sailed across the Atlantic in the summer of 08. When the weather warms we will start to visit the sailing ports of Europe. Our stories chronicle our life in France: the good life, the hard life, and the sailing life.

Welcome to the vines

Hi from Ste-Foy-la-Grande, France. This is the easternmost appellation of Bordeaux wines in France. We will explain a little bit about appellations later in the blog.

We are a couple of retired US gov't workers, living in France, enjoying the good life with our cats. We live among the Ste. Foy vines and help to harvest them one morning a year. Hard work! Good fun! This blog is intended to let you, gentle reader, understand a little about life in France. The good life, the hard life, the administrative life. Stay tuned.
