Welcome

We are a retired American couple living in France, enjoying the good life with our cats. Our house is in a small hamlet among the Ste. Foy vines. We also have a sailboat that the male half of the spousal unit sailed across the Atlantic in the summer of 08. When the weather warms we will start to visit the sailing ports of Europe. Our stories chronicle our life in France: the good life, the hard life, and the sailing life.

Paris in Black and White---More from the Show

Still dwelling on the large textile arts show we visited in Paris, here are some images from a cross-stitch sampler. One of a dozen displayed, it dates from a 1996 project of a cross stitch society in which each stitcher selected a color and then created a Paris themed sampler completely in that color. My favorite was the one in black in white. The overall piece was difficult to photograph because of its position in the hall, but details of the individual squares were easier.
